FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's volleyball team returned to the court on Friday evening, hosting the Lourdes University Gray Wolves to open their 2025 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) campaign. With a gritty performance, the Warriors held on to open their conference season with a 3-2 victory over Lourdes.
The Orange and Black got off to the start they were looking for as three separate 4-0 runs put them in control of the opening set on their way to a 25-18 win. Set two was a tough battle from start to finish, but in the end, the Warriors prevailed 28-26. Tech stumbled in sets three and four as the Gray Wolves took both, 25-18 and 25-20, to force a fifth set. In the fifth, the two sides were level at eight points each, but a 7-2 run from the Warriors to close the set ensured their 3-2 victory.
Logan Gieseke led the Warriors' attack with 16 kills.
Daniel Mitsin had himself a day, posting a double-double as he led the team in assists with 46, digs with 14, and blocks with two. He also co-led the side, matching
Clayton Wheatley and
Jensen Yarosh with one ace apiece.
The Warriors have a quick turnaround as they are back in action on Saturday, February 15, traveling to Adrian, Michigan, for a contest with the Siena Heights Saints. The first serve against the Saints is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
