ADRIAN, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's volleyball team closed their weekend with a trip to Adrian, Michigan, to take on Siena Heights University on Saturday afternoon. With a dominant performance, the Orange and Black completed the sweep, 25-18, 25-13, and 25-21.
There was little to separate the two sides in the opening stages of the first set, but while trailing 7-9, a kill from
Logan Gieseke helped spark a 10-3 run, putting the Warriors in control on their way to claiming the opener 25-18. Set two was all Tech as a 3-0 run to open it helped the Warriors lead wire-to-wire on the way to a 25-13 win. It was another fast start in the third set for Tech as they opened with a 9-3 lead early. The Saints battled back to make the set interesting, but the Warriors held off any comeback effort, claiming the match with a 25-21 win.
Dylan Poore led the Warriors' attack with 12 kills.
Ben Rosenow served up a team-high five aces.
Zack Karns and Poore tallied two blocks apiece.
Daniel Mitsin posted 28 assists. Jacob Carico held down the back row, posting seven digs.
The Warriors move to 3-5 on the season and 2-0 in conference play. Tech prepares for a trip to Mishawaka, Indiana, to take on Bethel University in their next contest on Tuesday, February 18, at 7:00 p.m.
