FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team welcomed Cornerstone University to the Schaefer Center for their final game of the regular season. On their senior day, the Orange and Black displayed a dominant performance, winning 87-72.
The two sides were deadlocked through the opening ten minutes of the contest with multiple lead changes and neither side was able to grab a substantial lead. Down the stretch though, it was the Warriors, led by
Crew Gibson's 12 points and
Blake Davison's 11, who established a lead, taking a 44-28 margin into the midway break. The Golden Eagles came out of the break looking for a way back into the game, cutting the Warriors lead to 12, but that's all the closer Tech would let them get as
Nigel Martin's 19 second-half points led the Warriors to an 87-72 win.
Martin led the way for the Warriors with 23 points, three rebounds, and three assists.
Blake Davison posted 11 points, four rebounds, and two assists.
Crew Gibson added another double-double to his season tally with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists.
Dallas Roberts recorded 11 points, three rebounds, and two assists.
The Warriors finish the regular season with a 21-6 record, winning the conference with a 17-2 record. The Warriors now prepare for their postseason campaign as they host the winner of the No. 8 vs No. 9 match-up on Thursday, February 27, in the Schaefer Center.
