Warriors Complete Season Sweep of Goshen with 3-0 Win

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's volleyball team returned to action on Tuesday evening as they welcomed Goshen College to the Schaefer Center for a WHAC contest. After taking their first season meeting 3-1, the Warriors were looking to complete the season sweep of the Maple Leafs and did just that, winning 3-0.

Tech got off to a strong start in the opening set of the match, scoring five straight points out of the gate. Goshen responded, however, battling back to level the score at seven. After trading a few points, it was the Warriors' turn to go on a run again, this time 7-2, putting them up 15-10. Once Tech grabbed momentum, there was no turning back as another five-point burst put the set out of reach as Tech cruised to a 25-18 win. The second set opened with six of the first seven points coming from service errors, but once the two sides settled into the set it was a level contest. Tech held a narrow lead, the largest was three points, for most of the contest, but the visitors refused to go away quietly, leveling the score at 22. Tech answered the call, as Dylan Poore put down three kills to lift Tech to a 25-23 victory in set two. After the close second set, set three was all Orange and Black as they led from start to finish, running away with it at the end to win 25-16 and claim the match.

Dylan Poore led the attack with 10 kills, followed by Kristian Kold with six. Jacob Carrico served Tech's lone ace of the evening. Zack Karns led the defensive front with seven blocks while Logan Gamero posted six. Daniel Mitsin dished out 27 assists in the contest, while Ben Rosenow led the back row with seven digs.

The Warriors now sit at 8-8 on the season and continue with just the one loss in conference play at 7-1. The Warriors will travel to Sylvania, Ohio, on Friday, March 21 for their next contest where they will meet the Lourdes Gray Wolves. The first serve in the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center is set for 7:00 p.m.
