FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's volleyball team traveled to Goshen, Indiana, on Tuesday evening for a conference showdown with the Maple Leafs of Goshen College. On the road, the Warriors came out on top 3-1.
The opening set was a close battle. The Warriors held a narrow advantage for the entire duration and held on to win 25-22. The two squads traded points through the four-point mark to open the second set, but a 3-0 run followed later by a 4-0 run from the Orange and Black gave the Warriors a sizeable lead on their way to a 25-17 victory. The opening stages of the third set played out similarly to the first two, but a 10-2 run from the Maple Leafs gave them a 22-18. Tech battled back, cutting the lead to one, but the hosts held on to take the set. Again, there was little to separate the two teams in the fourth set, but trailing 19-22, Tech would close the set with a 6-1 run to claim the match.
Kristian Kold led the attack with 11 kills.
Jacob Carrico served up four aces.
Logan Gamero was s force at the net sending back five blocks.
Daniel Mitsin led the side in assists and digs with 40 and eight, respectively.
Tech now sits at 6-6 on the season while holding a 5-1 conference record. Up next, the Warriors return home to the Schaefer Center after a five-game road stretch to host Mount Vernon Nazarene University on March 6 at 7:00 p.m.
