DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Indiana Tech baseball team hit the road Friday afternoon for a WHAC doubleheader with the Defiance College Yellow Jackets at Rutter Field in Defiance, Ohio. In their first time meeting the Yellow Jackets as conference foes, the Warriors would take both ends of the series, winning 13-5 and 17-6.
In the opener, it didn't take long for the Orange and Black to hang a number on the scoreboard as they tallied two in the first and two in the second to lead 4-1 after two. In the bottom of the third, the hosts would bring home three runs to level the score. In the fourth, the Warriors would end the deadlock as their offense would go off for six runs in the frame, leading 10-4. After a scoreless fifth, both sides were active again in the sixth, scoring one run each. In the top of the seventh, the Warriors added two more runs to their total, securing the 13-5 victory.

Jack Ferguson,
Garrett Rainey, and
Alex Watkins all had multi-hit games, while
Jordan Malott led the Warriors with four RBIs.
Adam Besser earned the win on the bump for Tech, throwing five innings. He allowed four runs (three earned) on nine hits, walked none, and struck out three of the 24 batters he faced.
In game two, the hosts' offense was hot early, as they scored all six of their runs in the first three innings, which gave them a 6-3 lead after three. From there, the Orange and Black took over, scoring five runs in the fourth and sixth innings and four runs in the seventh, ending the game after just seven innings.
Ben Morrison led the Warriors with four hits in four at-bats.
Logan Rybarczyk led the side with five RBIs.
Noah Redmon picked up the win on the mound, throwing four innings in which he allowed zero runs on two hits and struck out five of the 16 batters faced.
The Warriors are now 27-14 on the season and sit at 17-5 in conference play. The Warriors return to action with a non-conference doubleheader in Lexington, Kentucky, at Georgetown College on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
