Warriors Denied Sixth Straight WHAC Tournament Title in Semifinal Loss to Aquinas

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The #5 Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team was back at home for the WHAC Tournament Semifinals as they hosted #8 Aquinas College on Thursday night. The Warriors defeated the Saints 12-11 in overtime just five days earlier in the regular season finale to clinch a share of the WHAC Regular Season Championship.

The Saints came into Thursday's matchup after defeating the WHAC four seed and NAIA ranked #9 Lawrence Tech University on Tuesday, setting up a matchup with the top seeded Warriors. Cam Fewster would score first for Tech in the semifinal, but Aquinas would then score twice, before Josh Bramley score again for the Warriors as the first period ended 2-2. Aquinas would regain the lead with two goals in the second, but Tech would answer with goals from Cooper Langille and Jake Deacon to make it 4-4 going into halftime. Aquinas would again get a two-goal advantage before the Warriors tied the game at six, just minutes later. The Saints would then score four straight goals to go up 10-6 and led 10-7 with 15 minutes to play. Langille would spark the Warriors come back with the last goal in the third quarter and first in the fourth quarter. Kinley Hynote would score two minutes later to get Tech back within one. The two sides would then alternate goals down the stretch with Langille scoring his fourth of the game with 1:38 to go to make it 11-12. Down one, the Warriors would get a couple more chances to tie in the final minute, but could not find the equalizer, as the Saints deny the Warriors from a sixth straight WHAC Tournament Title. Cooper Langille would lead the Warriors with his four goals, Devin Macomber would add four assists, and Josh Bramley would score twice and add one assist. Carter Krizmanich would cause four turnovers and pick up four ground balls, while Zach Spisz would record three of each. Khiusttin Corpas would also cause three turnovers and would grab one ground balls, while Ryan Tedesco had one goal, one assist, one caused turnover, and four ground balls. Kyle TwoBulls would make five saves in the goal for the Warriors and pick up four ground balls.

The Warriors now sit at 13-3 overall on the season and will await the NAIA National Tournament draw next week, hoping for an at-large selection.
