Warriors Take Down Saints, One Win Away from Conference Title

ADRIAN, Mich. – The #7 Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team was on the road for a WHAC contest against Siena Heights University on Thursday night after severe weather caused the game to move back from its originally scheduled Wednesday date. Tech would enter the game 5-0 in conference play with two games to go and would take care of business against the Saints, picking up the win to move to 6-0 and just one win away from a perfect conference slate and their first WHAC Regular Season Title since 2019.

The Warriors would start off strong on Thursday night with a 4-0 first quarter. Tech would build their lead to 7-0 in the second quarter before Siena Heights ended the period on a 3-0 run to cut the Warrior lead back to four. The Saints would go on another 3-0 run to start the second half, making it 6-7 and make it a tight game again. But the Warriors would close the period strongly with a 3-1 run to take a three goal lead up 10-7. Siena Heights would score twice in the fourth quarter, but Tech would score immediately after, both times, to keep their lead at three, eventually winning it 12-9. The Tech offense would come from a variety of players tonight with six players getting on the board all registering between two and four points. Lauren Hainlin and Noelle Ricci would lead with four points each, while Michelle Farrell had three. Cyn'Cere McRae and Gabby Hitchcock would each cause two turnovers and grab five and four ground balls respectively, while goalie Kat Hoff would grab six ground balls. Da'zah Regusters would record seven draw controls in addition to scoring two goals. Hoff would earn the win, finishing with nine saves in net.

Tech improves to 9-2 overall on the season and 6-0 in WHAC play with one game to go. The Warriors will look to clinch the regular season title on Wednesday, April 9th in a tough road matchup against #9 Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana at 6pm.
