GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Warrior baseball team began their postseason on Wednesday afternoon with a WHAC Tournament match-up against Lawrence Tech at DeWitt Field in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In a thrilling first-round bout, the Orange and Black would outlast the Blue Devils 4-3 in 11 innings to continue in the winner's bracket.
 
To open the contest, both offenses got on the board in the first inning, plating one run to be locked 1-1 after one. From there, the pitcher's battle was on. The Warriors brought home one run in the fourth with an RBI from Alex Watkins, but were held scoreless through the remainder of regulation. After scoring their run in the first, Grant Besser shut down the Blue Devil offense for seven innings until they leveled the score with a run in the ninth. Both sides scored a run in the 10^th inning, but in the 11^th, the Warriors got things done as Logan Rybarczyk drove in Jaden Miller on a single into right field. Colton Leatherman picked up the win on the mound, throwing 2.1 innings. He allowed one run on two hits and struck out one of the 10 batters he faced. Alex Watkins led the Warrior offense, who went two for four with one RBI in the contest.
 
Tech moves on in the winner's bracket and will face the No. 2-seeded Cardinals of Concordia University on Thursday afternoon, beginning at 4:00 p.m.
