WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The #12 ranked Indiana Tech men's soccer team was on the road just about an hour west of Fort Wayne on Wednesday night for a nonconference match against (RV) Grace College. The Warriors would battle hard but would be outdueled by the Lancers in the end by a score of 1-0.
Despite the scoreline reflecting a defensive battle, both offenses would have plenty of chances to get on the board with 27 total combined shots in the game. Grace would have a healthy edge in total shots over the Warriors but only a 7-4 edge for shots on target. Tech would register one more corner than Grace (7-6) but wouldn't be able to get anything from them. No goals would be scored in the first half by either team for a third straight game involving the Warriors. The goal would come in the second half in the 56
th minute after a perfect low cross from the left side behind the Warrior defense for an easy tap in finish for Grace. The Lancers would go up 1-0 and never look back. Tech would have a few opportunities to score in the second half, but nothing substantial late in the game as they drop back-to-back games by one goal.
Cuba Grant would make five saves in goal for the Warriors in the loss.
The Warriors now sit at 3-2-1 on the season and will play #6 Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday, September 13
th at 7pm in Marion, Indiana.
