FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team was back at home on Monday afternoon for their final nonconference game against #18 Campbellsville University. The Warriors would fall to the Tigers 0-4.
The Tigers would waste no time getting on the scoresheet in this one, opening the game with a goal in the 6
th minute of play. Tech would battle through the first half, but Campbellsville would find the back of the net again in the 25
th minute and take a 2-0 lead into halftime. The Tigers would again find a quick goal to open a half, scoring less than two minutes into the second period to make it 3-0 for the visitors. The Warriors would finally find a rhythm throughout the second half, maintaining possession and connecting passes at a much higher rate than the first half. Tech's best chance to score was in the 55
th minute when
Jordan Kallet hit a nice shot from outside the box that went just wide left of goal. Campbellsville would manage to score a fourth goal in the 74
th minute as that would put the finishing touches on the 4-0 victory for the Tigers. Freshman
Madison Strain would start in goal for the Warriors, making four saves and allowing two goals in 45 minutes of action. Senior
Sara Cogoli would play the second 45 minutes in net, making eight saves and allowing two goals.
The Warriors fall to 0-4-0 as they wrap up nonconference play. Up next, Tech will travel to Washington, Michigan to play Rochester Christian University in their first WHAC matchup on Saturday, September 20
th at 4pm.
