Women’s Soccer Falls to Rochester Christian in Shootout to Start WHAC Play

WASHINGTON, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team hit the road for their first game of conference play on Saturday against Rochester Christian University. Tech would battle hard in the match but would fall 2-3 to the Warriors in white and red.

Rochester Christian would open the scoring in the 12th minute to make it 1-0. The home team would add a second goal in the 19th minute, but Tech would get a goal back just 47 seconds later as Jordan Kallet converted from the penalty spot to score the Warriors first goal of the season. Rochester Christian would score their third goal of the game in the 31st minute to make it 3-1 at halftime. Both goalkeepers would need to make saves in the second half to stop the sides from scoring. Trailing by two late, the Orange & Black would cut the deficit to one in the 89th minute on a goal by Payton Kuhn. The Warriors comeback would fall short however, as Rochester Christian would hold on to win the game 3-2. Sara Cogoli would have a stellar game in goal for Tech, making 11 saves throughout the 90 minutes in net.

The Warriors move to 0-5-0 overall and start WHAC play at 0-1-0. Tech will be at home in their next game when they host Lourdes University at Warrior Athletic Field on Wednesday, September 24th at 2pm.
