Warriors Get Big Win Over Rams

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The #12 ranked Indiana Tech men's soccer team took a road trip down to Mississippi this week for the first of two games for the weekend against #20 ranked University of Mobile on Friday afternoon. After a scoreless first half, the Warriors would come out with a 3-2 win in an eventful second half affair.

Despite no goals being scored through the first 45 minutes, there would be no shortage of action, as there were seven total shots and ten total fouls in a physical first half. The goal scoring began in the 52nd minute when Mobile took the lead. The Warriors would counter nine minutes later from the penalty spot with a perfectly placed kick courtesy of Mark Mc Daid, tying the game at one. The Rams would regain the lead in the 67th minute, but Tech would bounce back with two quick goals in the 71st and 74th minutes to take their first lead of the game. Mc Daid would score his second goal of the game and fourth of the season on an assist from Gui Moreira to tie it, and Filip Maksimovic would score the game winner following a corner kick and assist from Xambos Statiotis. Mobile would register three shots over the final 15 minutes in an effort to tie the game, but the Warrior defense wouldn't allow any of them on goal, holding on for the dramatic win. Cuba Grant would make one save in goal for Tech, picking up the win.

The Warriors now sit at 3-0-1 on the year and will face #8 William Carey University (Miss.) on Sunday, September 7th.
