Men’s Soccer Falls for the First Time in 2025

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The #12 ranked Indiana Tech men's soccer team completed their two-game road trip to Mississippi on Sunday afternoon with a matchup against #8 ranked William Carey University. The Warriors would battle in a closely contested match but would suffer defeat for the first time in 2025 with a 1-0 late victory for the Crusaders.

The goalkeepers would play a big role in this contest as both offenses would test them early. The Warriors would register four corners, four shots, and two shots on target throughout the first half, while the Crusaders would register one corner, three shots, and three shots on target, but both keepers would preserve shutouts as the two sides went into halftime tied at zero. William Carey would start to become more of an offensive threat in the second half, outshooting Tech 7-4 but Cuba Grant would deny the Crusaders time and time again. However, William Carey would finally find the back of the net on a wonder strike from outside the box into the top left corner in the 82nd minute to put them ahead 1-0 with just over eight minutes remaining. That would be the difference in the game as they would hold on for the win and hand the Warriors their first loss of the season. Grant would make seven saves in goal for the Warriors and Thomas Cole would lead Tech with two shots on goal.

The Warriors drop to 3-1-1 on the season and will head back to Indiana for their upcoming matches. Tech will continue to be away from home but will be much closer with games against (RV) Grace College on Wednesday, September 10th and #6 Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday, September 13th.
