Men’s Basketball Glides by Golden Eagles

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The #9 ranked Indiana Tech men's basketball team hosted the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles on Saturday in the Schaefer Center on the campus of Indiana Tech, where the Warriors would prevail 89-74.
 
The Warriors would control the game from start to finish, holding a lead for almost the entire game. After a scoreless first few minutes by both sides, Tech would get rolling midway through the first period jumping out to a 14-point lead. By halftime, the lead had increased to 16 as the Warriors led 41-25. The Orange & Black would continue their momentum in the second half as they started with a 10-4 run to go up 22 in the first five minutes. Cornerstone would start to comeback during the period but would never get closer than ten points as the Warriors moved to 9-1 in conference play with the 15-point victory. Jaxson Fugate would lead the Warriors offense with 23 points and three assists, while five Warriors would finish in double figures. Evan Haroldson would add 14 points, Eric Hobson – 13, Logan Beaston – 12, and Blake Davison would nearly pick up a double double, finishing with ten points and nine assists. Fugate would also drive the Warriors defense with two blocks and two steals, while bringing in nine rebounds. Tech would hold Cornerstone to under 39% shooting from the field and under 28% from three.
 
The Warriors improve to 13-2 overall and 9-1 in WHAC play with the win. Up next, Tech will play at Siena Heights on Wednesday, January 14th in Adrian, Michigan at 7:30pm.
