FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The #22 ranked Indiana Tech women's basketball team hosted the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles in a WHAC matchup on Saturday afternoon in the Schaefer Center on the campus of Indiana Tech.
The Warriors would get off to a slow start against the Golden Eagles but would manage to put things together to give themselves a four point lead by the end of the first quarter. The lead would grow to ten by halftime as the Warriors shot 60% from the field in the second period to extend their lead. In the third quarter,
Ryan Moorer would carry the load for the Orange & Black scoring nine of the teams 19 points as Tech led 57-47 after 30 minutes of action. Tech would finish off Cornerstone in the fourth, outscoring them 16-8 with
Jaidyn Gulley and
Taylor Covington scoring all 16 of the Warriors points in the period. Tech would win 73-55 in the end with Gully and Covington leading the way. Gully finished with a 15 point, 14 rebound double double, while Covington added 18 points.
The Warriors improve to 12-4 on the season and 9-1 in WHAC play. Up next, the Warriors will play at Siena Heights next Wednesday, January 14
th in Adrian, Michigan at 6pm.
