Adrian, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's basketball team held strong down the stretch Wednesday night, holding Siena Heights 62–59 in a hard-fought WHAC road victory.
The Warriors came out sharp in the opening quarter, jumping to a quick lead behind efficient shooting and defensive pressure. Indiana Tech shot 57 percent from the field in the first quarter and knocked down four three-pointers to take a 22–11 advantage after ten minutes.
Siena Heights responded in the second and third quarters, slowly chipping away at the lead and turning the game into a tight contest heading into the final period. Despite being outscored in the middle quarters, Indiana Tech stayed composed and leaned on timely stops and execution.
In the fourth quarter, the Warriors delivered when it mattered most, outscoring Siena Heights 18–19 but doing enough at the free-throw line and defensively to protect the narrow lead. Indiana Tech finished the game shooting 86 percent from the line, including key makes in the closing minutes.
Taylor Covington led all scorers with a standout performance, finishing with 25 points and nine rebounds while going a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. Jaidyn Gulley added 13 points on efficient shooting, while Durbin Thomas chipped in eight points and four assists.
Indiana Tech's balanced effort and poise late secured the road win and kept the Warriors atop the WHAC standings.
With the victory, Indiana Tech improves to 13–4 overall and 10–1 in conference play. Indiana Tech will look to carry its momentum into the next stretch of WHAC play as the Warriors head back on the road to face Aquinas in their next conference matchup Saturday, Janaury 17th .
