Warriors Push Past Aquinas with Lockdown Defense

Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's basketball team put together a strong defensive effort Saturday afternoon, rallying from an early deficit to defeat Aquinas College 54–47 in WHAC action.

Aquinas jumped out to a fast start, scoring 20 points in the opening quarter and building a double-digit lead. Indiana Tech responded in the second quarter, tightening up defensively and outscoring the Saints 19–8 to cut the deficit heading into halftime.

The Warriors carried their momentum into the second half, continuing to apply pressure on the defensive end while forcing turnovers and limiting Aquinas' offensive opportunities. Indiana Tech outscored the Saints in both the third and fourth quarters, using timely stops and transition buckets to pull ahead late.

Taylor Covington led the Warriors with 13 points, while Ryan Moorer added 10 points in limited minutes. Durbin Thomas chipped in nine points, and Madison Vice knocked down a pair of three-pointers for eight points. Indiana Tech's defensive pressure was highlighted by 15 steals on the afternoon.
