Indiana Tech Drops Two at Minot State

Minot, North Dakota. -  The Indiana Tech women's hockey team wrapped up a two-game road series against Minot State University on January 16–17 at Maysa Arena, dropping both contests but continuing to show resilience and growth against a strong Beavers squad.

The series opener was a tightly contested matchup that remained scoreless through much of the first period until Minot State struck first at the 5:44 mark with an unassisted goal. The Warriors responded with steady defensive play and strong effort through the neutral zone, keeping the score within reach.

In the 3rd Minot State struck again at the 13:48 mark making the lead agaiunst Tech 2-0. Until late in the 3rd Allison Greene scored an unassisted goal at 2:28 to make the game 2-1 in a late attempt to make a comeback . Despite continued pressure from the Warriors late in the game, Indiana Tech was unable to find the tying goal, falling 2–1.

In Game two Minot State came out strong in game two, scoring twice in the opening period to take an early 2–0 lead. The Beavers carried that momentum into the second period, adding three more as Indiana Tech chipped away managing to add 1 goal in the 2nd. 

Kaitlyn Broeckel scored Indiana Tech's first goal of the night at 12:01 of the second period with an unassisted effort, cutting into the deficit. Minot State responded quickly, however, and entered the third period with a 5–1 advantage.

The Warriors continued to battle and earned another goal late in the third period when Allison Greene scored her second goal of the series, assisted by Avery Johnson and Halle Murray. Minot State answered with five goals in the final frame to secure the 10–2 win.

Despite the outcomes, Indiana Tech showed flashes of competitiveness, particularly in game one, and continued to gain valuable experience against a high-powered opponent. Greene's consistent scoring presence and Broeckel's finish in game two were bright spots as the Warriors look to build momentum heading into their next stretch of competition at University of Jamestown in North Dakota.
