Jamestown, North Dakota. - The Indiana Tech women's hockey team put on a thrilling performance Sunday afternoon, battling past Jamestown in a dramatic 3–2 overtime victory at John L. Wilson Arena.
The Jimmies struck first in the opeing seconds of the opening period, to take a 1–0 lead. Rather than slow the Warriors down, the early goal ignited Indiana Tech's response.
The momentum swung in the second period when Kaitlyn Broeckel buried an unassisted goal at 10:23, tying the game and firing up the Indiana Tech bench. From there, the pace intensified as both teams traded chances in an end-to-end battle.
Indiana Tech enter 3rd period behind until Avery Johnson finished a beautiful setup from Emily Harty and Sylvie Legault at the 2:07 mark, giving the Warriors a tie to end the 3rd. Forcing overtime and set the stage for a dramatic finish.
It didn't take long for the Warriors to seal it.
At 2:03 of overtime, Allison Greene broke free and ripped home the unassisted game-winner, sending the Indiana Tech bench into celebration and securing the 3–2 victory.
The physical, fast-paced contest featured tight defense and intense battles throughout, with neither team able to capitalize on power-play opportunities. Indiana Tech's relentless effort and composure under pressure proved to be the difference.
