FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Indiana Tech's
Javion Westfield,
Lola Barkby,
Isaiah Gagerman, and
Luke Rioux were named Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) and Mid-South Conference (MSC) Players of the Week, the conferences announced Monday.
Javion Westfield ran a season best 8.00 seconds to win the 60-meter hurdles and hit a NAIA 'A' standard at the Indiana Tech Invitational last weekend, earning WHAC Track Athlete of the Week.
Lola Barkby earned Mid-South Women's Wrestler of the Week honors after winning the Spartan Mat Classic this past weekend. The freshman from Sturgis, Michigan went 5 - 0 with four pins, the most of anyone in the tournament in the shortest amount of time, at the Spartan Mat Classic enroute to her tournament championship.
Luke Rioux would also win the Spartan Mat Classic on the men's side, helping him win the WHAC Wrestler of the Week award. He would go 5-0 with two falls on his way to the title.
Isaiah Gagerman would be named WHAC Defensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals and adding one assist in a top of the table series against Cleary last weekend that the sides would split, winning one game each.
