FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The 13
th-ranked Indiana Tech men's basketball team battled but ultimately prevailed 83-76 over Rochester Christian on Saturday.
Indiana Tech opened the game on a 10-4 run two minutes into the game, but Rochester Christian responded and took a 17-12 lead.
Indiana Tech swung the lead back in their favor at 30-25, but an 11-0 run put Rochester Christian back in front at 36-30. Rochester Christian led 44-38 at the half.
Indiana Tech tied the game at 47-47 three minutes into the second half. With Indiana Tech ahead 59-56, the home Warriors scored six straight points to extend their lead to nine at 65-56.
Rochester Christian cut the lead back to three at 71-68 with three minutes remaining. Indiana Tech responded with six straight points to take a 77-68 lead with two minutes left.
Indiana Tech would go on to win 83-76.
Indiana Tech was led by
Blake Davison, who recorded a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
Jaxson Fugate added 23 points on 7-9 shooting, and
Logan Beaston added 15 points.
The 13
th-ranked Warriors shot 46.8 percent from the field and were efficient from the free throw line, making 17 of their 21 attempts.
Indiana Tech moves to 16-3 overall and 12-2 in WHAC play. The Warriors return to action on Wednesday at Lawrence Tech.
