GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The (RV) Indiana Tech men's volleyball team opened their season with a 3-0 win over #10 Benedictine Mesa before falling to #5 Missouri Valley to open their season.
Indiana Tech never trailed in the first set against #10 Benedictine Mesa, taking the set 25-17. The Warriors used an 11-0 run in the second set to take the set 25-15. The third set was very similar to the first as the Warriors won 25-17 to take the match 3-0 to upset the 10
th-ranked Redhawks.
Indiana Tech was led by
Dylan Poore, who had a career-high 21 kills and 5.0 blocks. The 21 kills set a program record for most kills in a three-set match.
Zeke Litchfield also had 5.0 blocks, and
Zack Karns had 4.0.
Nolan Bosley had 37 assists, and
Kristian Kold had four service aces.
#5 Missouri Valley took the first set on (RV) Indiana Tech 25-16. The second set was tightly contested, but the Vikings took the second set 25-20. Missouri Valley used a 9-2 run in the third to take the set 25-15 and the match 3-0.
Dylan Poore led Indiana Tech with seven kills, three digs, and two aces.
Zack Karns had a team-high 3.0 blocks.
Indiana Tech opens the year 1-1. The Warriors return to action on Wednesday for their home opener against No. 9 Campbellsville.
