SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Senior guard
Taylor Covington reached the 500-career assist milestone as the 25
th-ranked Indiana Tech women's basketball team defeated Lawrence Tech 68-37 on Wednesday.
Indiana Tech started the game on a 7-2 run and led 16-9 after the first quarter. The Warriors held Lawrence Tech without a point for the first six minutes of the second quarter, extending their lead to 22-9. Indiana Tech led 30-16 at the half.
Lawrence Tech opened the second half with an 11-2 run to cut the Warrior lead to 32-27. Indiana Tech responded with 15 straight points to extend their lead to 47-27. The Warriors led 50-29 after three quarters.
Indiana Tech outscored Lawrence Tech 18-8 in the fourth quarter and would go on to win 68-37.
The Warriors were led by
Taylor Covington, who had 21 points, seven rebounds, and five assists as the senior guard reached the 500-career assist milestone.
Jaidyn Gulley added 12 points and seven rebounds.
Indiana Tech moves to 17-4 overall and 14-1 in WHAC play. The Warriors host Defiance College on Saturday for Alumni Day at the Schaefer Center.
