Box Score 2 Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's hockey team came out strong this past weekend, posting back-to-back victories over Aquinas College with scores of 5–3 and 8–2, improving their conference record and keeping momentum rolling.
Game One – Friday, January 2: Indiana Tech opened the series with a 5–3 win. Connor Funke got the Warriors on the board first, assisted by Francesco Santaniello and Pavel Svoboda. Maksym Maiuk, Ryan Doucette, and Aidan Dufort added goals in the second period to help Tech take control. Aquinas responded with two goals in the final frame, but a late power-play goal from Funke sealed the win. Goalie Gage Reimer stopped 35 of 38 shots, giving Tech the edge in net.
Game Two – Saturday, January 3: The Warriors traveled home to Fort Wayne to face Aquinas on home ice looking to stay in the win column. After a scoreless opening stretch, Indiana Tech broke through midway through the first period when Ian Vannelli netted an unassisted goal at the 9:42 mark to give the Warriors an early lead. Tech carried the 1–0 advantage into the intermission before unleashing an offensive surge in the second period.
Aquinas briefly tied the game early in the second, but Indiana Tech responded immediately and took full control. JP Scaringi scored three times in the period to complete a hat trick, including two power-play goals. Connor Funke added two goals of his own, while Ryan Doucette and Malik Ali also found the back of the net during the decisive stretch.
Indiana Tech capitalized on special teams, converting four power-play goals in the second period, applying constant pressure and limiting Aquinas' opportunities. The Warriors outpaced Aquinas throughout the period, quickly building a commanding lead that put the game out of reach.
With the weekend sweep, Indiana Tech improved to 8–6–4 overall and 7–0–3 in conference play, continuing their strong start and showing depth and firepower across the roster.
