FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's and women's track teams hosted their third and final meet of the indoor season on Friday as the regular season winds down. The Warriors would record one new class record, seven new program top ten all-time marks, 25 event wins, and 54 individual personal records at the meet in a strong showing for the Orange & Black.
Meet highlights:
Men:
- Dajaun Green won the 60m finals in 6.97 seconds, while Daiveon Gayle-Woodley won the 200m race in 22.00 seconds to hit a NAIA 'B' standard
- James Barragan won the 400m with a time of 49.40 and Brayden Labonte won the 600m race in 1:22.81
- Favian Gollop won the 1000m race in 2:47.57 and Curtis Williams won the 3000m race in 8:58.00
- Joe Mitchell (8.04) and Rodnico Carrington (8.07) would both hit NAIA 'B' standards, finishing first and second in the 60m hurdles
- Tech's 4x400m relay team of Davarri Barthell, Kehan Kumarasiri, Tarryl Thompson, and James Barragan took first in the event with a time of 3:21.27
- Lasse Timmerhans, Giulio Romano, Lyonell Castillo, and Waval Davis would help Tech's 4x800m relay team hit a NAIA 'A' standard with a 7:43.27
- McKale Hood won the high jump with a NAIA 'B' standard jump of 2.04m
- Jayden Packer won pole vault with a 4.66m mark
- Tech's long jumpers would take the top eight spots in the event with three Warriors hitting NAIA 'A' standards and another grabbing a 'B' standard. Damien Keys won the event with a jump of 7.49m, followed by Rodrigo Davis (7.32m) and Stephen Sydnor (7.30m), all hitting 'A' standards. Kameron Bailey finished fourth with a 'B' standard mark of 7.26m
- Jacquez Lawson hit a NAIA 'B' standard in the triple jump with a 14.71m jump
- Leviticus Land won the shot put and hit a 'B' standard with a throw of 16.26m
- Jacob Kavicky picked up a 'B' standard winning the weight throw with a mark of 18.21m
Women:
The Warriors will compete in a series of meets on the road next weekend, February 13
th and 14
th. Tech will be at the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Michigan, the WHAC vs MIAA Challenge in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the Centre Indoor Invite in Danville, Kentucky.
