SYLVANIA, Ohio – The 24
th ranked Indiana Tech women's basketball team took down conference foe Lourdes 65-60 for their 12
th straight win on Wednesday.
The first quarter saw the teams go back and forth as Lourdes led 15-13 after a quarter of play.
Lourdes extended their lead to eight at 23-15 to open the second quarter. Indiana Tech answered with a 14-0 run to swing the lead back in their favor at 29-23. Indiana Tech led 33-25 at the half.
A jumper to open the third put Indiana Tech ahead by double digits at 35-25, but Lourdes fought back to cut the deficit to two at 39-37. With the Warriors ahead 40-37, Lourdes closed the quarter on a 5-1 run to take a 42-41 lead into the fourth.
Lourdes led 44-41 to open the fourth, but a quick 5-0 spurt put Indiana Tech back ahead 46-44. Lourdes took the lead back at 48-46, but a 6-0 run by
Ryan Moorer put the Warriors ahead 52-48.
A three by Lourdes made it 52-51, but six straight points by
Jaidyn Gulley extended the Warrior lead to 58-51 with 4:23 remaining.
Indiana Tech increased their lead to nine at 64-55 with just under two minutes to go, but Lourdes rattled off five straight to cut the lead to four at 64-60 with 18 seconds left. Indiana Tech hit a free throw and then used a defensive stand to secure a 65-60 win.
Indiana Tech was led by
Ryan Moorer, who recorded a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds.
Madison Vice added 18 points on 6-9 shooting from three.
Jaidyn Gulley recorded double-double number nine on the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Warriors held Lourdes to 33.3 percent shooting and 31.6 percent from three.
Indiana Tech moves to 21-4 overall and 18-1 in WHAC play. The Warriors now hold a three-game lead over Lourdes, Aquinas, and Rochester Christian. Indiana Tech returns to action on Saturday for Senior Day against Madonna.
