FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The national rankings continue to shuffle, but Indiana Tech isn't backing down. As teams rise and fall across the country, the Warriors have 12 programs represented in the latest polls or receiving votes, proving once again that Tech competes at a national level in every season.

Joining this week's Ranking Roundup are Indiana Tech's men's and women's lacrosse programs with both teams earning top spots in the latest national polls. The men's lacrosse team checks in at No. 6 in the preseason rankings after an impressive 13-4 overall record and 6-1 mark in WHAC play last season. The Warriors sit just three points behind No. 5 Reinhardt (Ga.) and seven points ahead of No. 7 William Penn (Iowa), positioning themselves firmly among the nation's elite. Tech opens the 2026 campaign against defending national power and No. 1-ranked Keiser on February 21, looking to make an early statement and shake up the polls. On the women's side, the Warriors enter the season ranked No. 7 nationally. A year ago, Tech posted an 11-4 overall record and went 6-1 in conference play, earning WHAC Regular Season Co-Champion honors and advancing to the WHAC Tournament Championship game. In this year's preseason poll, Indiana Tech sits just two points behind No. 6 Reinhardt (Ga.) and five points ahead of conference rival No. 8 Lawrence Tech (Mich.). The Warriors will open their season on the road March 2 against No. 3 Cumberlands (Ky.) in Williamsburg, Kentucky.

Indiana Tech's men's and women's track and field teams continue to hold strong in the national spotlight, with the men remaining steady at No. 3 in the latest rankings and the women shifting slightly to No. 7. The men's squad has been powered by dominant individual performances, particularly in the long jump. Damien Keys delivered a season-best mark of 7.49 meters at the Indiana Tech Orange & Black Invitational last Friday, winning the event and improving his NAIA 'A' standard. His performance earned him NAIA and WHAC Field Athlete of the Week honors and continues to solidify Tech's strength in the field events. On the women's side, the Warriors showcased impressive depth on their home track. Annaja Daniel clocked an 8.94 in the 60m hurdles, while Greta Hornlein followed closely with an 8.95 in the same event, highlighting Tech's competitive edge in the hurdles. In the shot put, Tatum Wiedenhaft led the field with a throw of 13.92 meters, adding another strong mark to the Warriors' resume. Both teams will look to build on their momentum as they head to separate competitions this weekend, with Indiana Tech both teams competing at the Grand Valley State University, Aquinas College, and Centre College Big Meets on February 13 for separate races and events.

Men's and women's bowling continue to keeps the ball rolling following their WHAC Regular season victories. The men's team holds steady at No. 4, while the women move up one spot to No. 8 in the national rankings. With no competition since winning the WHAC Jamboree, both teams have focused on training and fine-tuning their strategies in preparation for the Hoosier Classic in Indianapolis, where they will face a full week of high-level competition. The Warriors aim to build on their momentum and compete for top honors at the event.

Indiana Tech's men's and women's wrestling teams remain strong in the national polls, with the men slipping slightly to No. 5 and the women moving down one spot to No. 9. The women's squad will rely on standout performers like Zoey Haney, Bo Geibe, Andrea Hernandez, and six additional ranked athletes as they look to make their mark in the upcoming Mid-South Conference matchup. On the men's side, ranked wrestlers Tyler Hisey and Trevor Hisey, along with 12 other additional ranked athletes, aim to lead the team toward victory. The men will compete for the WHAC Championship on February 14th in Fort Wayne, while the women take the mat for the Mid-South Conference Tournament on February 20th in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Indiana Tech's men's and women's basketball teams continue to push in the national polls, with the women moving up to No. 24 and the men receiving votes after sliding out. Both teams have been powered by standout performances from key players, including Jaxson Fugate and Taylor Covington. For the Men's team, Jaxson Fugate was named January Player of the Month after scoring 17 or more points in eight of nine games, averaging 20.6 points per contest. His month featured a career-high 40-point game on the road at Lawrence Tech on January 29. Fugate shot 57.7% from the floor and 79.7% from the free-throw line, while also contributing 2.6 assists per game, totaling 79 rebounds (8.8 per game), 20 blocks (2.2 per game), and 11 steals (1.2 per game). He recorded three double-doubles in January, helping the Warriors sit in second place in the WHAC standings with a 13-5 record. Fugate also shared Player of the Week honors on February 2 with Taylor Covington. For the women's team, Covington was named Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Warriors to two dominant victories last week. She scored 45 points across the two games, adding 11 assists, 10 rebounds, seven steals, and two blocks, including two 20+ point performances. Both teams will play at home this Saturday for Senior Day, honoring the seniors on each squad, and will look to take a win over Madonna as they aim to finish strong in the final two weeks of conference play and prepare for a deep tournament run.

Indiana Tech's women's hockey team is coming off a major sweep of Penn State in their last conference matchup. The Warriors traveled to Penn State and captured two wins on the road, 4-1 and 2-1. In the second game, Haylee Grenier scored midway through the first period to give Tech an early lead. After Penn State tied the game in the third period, Allison Greene delivered the game-winning goal in the final minutes, securing the 2–1 victory and completing the conference sweep. The team will next compete in the CCWHA Tournament starting February 19, facing Aquinas College and Michigan State, with hopes of advancing to the semifinals and ultimately competing for the championship.

Lastly, joining this week's Ranking Roundup is Indiana Tech's softball team, which is receiving votes in the latest national poll and comes in at No. 2 in the WHAC Coaches Preseason Poll. The Warriors earned 105 points in this year's preseason poll after finishing fourth last season with a 16-8 conference record. Tech advanced to the WHAC Tournament semifinals and closed the 2025 season with a 30-16 overall record. In this year's preseason poll, Indiana Tech sits five points ahead of UNOH and 16 points behind the projected top seed and defending WHAC champion, Madonna University, who received all 11 first-place votes. The Warriors opened their season on the road, traveling to face Campbellsville University and the University of the Cumberlands, playing both teams twice.

Indiana Tech continues to make its mark nationally, with multiple programs ranked or receiving votes across a variety of sports. From lacrosse and basketball to track, softball, wrestling, bowling, and women's hockey, the Warriors are showcasing depth, talent, and consistency at every level. Standout individual performances, conference championships, and strong preseason rankings highlight the commitment and excellence of Indiana Tech athletics. As teams head into the final weeks of regular-season play, tournaments, and conference championships, the Warriors look to build on their momentum, honor their seniors, and compete at the highest level, continuing to bring pride to the Indiana Tech community.
