SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's volleyball team fell to No. 6 Lawrence Tech 3 sets to 1 on Tuesday.
Lawrence Tech jumped out to a 14-9 lead in set one. Indiana Tech cut the lead to three on multiple occasions but could not get any closer as Lawrence Tech took the first set 25-19.
Indiana Tech led 15-9 to open the second set, but LTU responded to tie the set at 17-17. Indiana Tech took a 20-19 lead, but Lawrence Tech used a 5-1 run to take a 24-21 lead. The Warriors then responded with a 3-0 run to tie the set at 24-24. Indiana Tech completed the comeback to win the second set 27-25.
Set three was a set of runs that saw Indiana Tech lead 12-11. Lawrence Tech then went on a 10-3 run to swing the lead back in their favor at 21-15. The Blue Devils would take the third set 25-19.
Indiana Tech led 11-8 in set four, but LTU scored four straight points to take a 12-11 lead. IT led 14-13, but the Blue Devils responded once more to jump ahead 16-14. The teams battled the entire set as the teams found themselves tied at 24-24, but LTU scored the final two points to take the set 26-24 and the match 3-1.
Dylan Poore led Indiana Tech with 20 kills.
Logan Gieseke added nine kills and a team-high 5.0 blocks.
Nolan Bosley led the Warriors with 36 assists.
Indiana Tech falls to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in WHAC play. The Warriors return to action on Friday at home against No. 10 Bethel (Ind.).
