DEARBORN, MICH. - The Indiana Tech women's hockey team opened CCWHA Tournament play in dominant fashion on February 19, defeating Aquinas 10–1 in Dearborn, Michigan.
The Warriors wasted no time setting the tone. Just 24 seconds into the first period, Allison Greene found the back of the net off assists from Halle Murray and Sylvie Legault to give Tech an early 1–0 lead. Greene struck again at the 4:03 mark, finishing a setup from Hailey Terpstra to extend the advantage.
Indiana Tech continued to pour on the pressure throughout the opening frame. Jaiden Rogers added an unassisted goal midway through the period, followed by Greene completing her hat trick at 11:35 off a feed from Murray. Murray then capped off the explosive first period with a goal of her own at 18:35, assisted by Carys Wytinck and Terpstra, giving the Warriors a commanding 5–0 lead after one.
The momentum carried into the second period. Murray netted her second goal of the afternoon at 5:30, this time assisted by Greene, pushing the score to 6–0. Aquinas answered later in the period with a goal from Anna Castle at 12:58, but that would be the lone highlight for the Saints.
In the third period, the Warriors closed the door. Murray added two more goals to complete a four-goal performance, while Wytinck and Avery Johnson each tallied late goals to round out the scoring. Greene finished the game with three goals and multiple assists, playing a key role in Indiana Tech's offensive surge.
Indiana Tech totaled 10 goals across all three periods, highlighted by a five-goal first period that set the tone early. The Warriors showcased balanced scoring, strong puck movement, and relentless offensive pressure throughout the contest.
With the 10–1 victory, Indiana Tech advances in the CCWHA Tournament and builds momentum heading into the next round.
