GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's basketball team closed the regular season with a 65-39 win over Cornerstone on Saturday.
Offense was at a premium to open the first quarter as the teams were tied 6-6 six minutes into the game. Indiana Tech closed the quarter with a 10-0 run to take a 16-6 lead.
The Warriors opened the second quarter with a 15-0 run to extend their advantage to 31-6. The Warriors led 38-15 at halftime.
Indiana Tech outscored Cornerstone 15-5 in the third quarter and held a 53-20 lead at the end of three.
Indiana Tech would go on to cruise to a 65-39 win.
The Warriors were led by
Taylor Covington, who filled the stat sheet with 22 points, five rebounds, five steals and four assists.
Jaidyn Gulley and
Ryan Moorer each had 12 points apiece.
Jacklyn Crews had seven points off the bench.
Indiana Tech finishes the regular season 23-5 overall and 20-2 in WHAC play. The Warriors will be the No. 1 seed in the WHAC Conference Tournament, which kicks off Wednesday night.
