FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team defeated Cornerstone 97-85 to advance to the WHAC Tournament Semifinals.
Indiana Tech jumped out to a 15-9 lead four minutes in. Cornerstone answered with an offensive barrage to take a 27-20 lead halfway through the first half.
Indiana Tech answered with a 19-0 run to take a 39-27 lead. The Warriors led 54-37 at the half.
The Warriors led by as many as 21 to open the second half, but Cornerstone fought back, cutting the lead to seven with 7:03 remaining.
It was still a seven-point game with five minutes remaining, but a 9-0 run put Indiana Tech ahead 94-78. The Warriors would go on to win 97-85 to advance to the WHAC Semifinals.
Indiana Tech was led by
Jaxson Fugate, who recorded a double-double with 30 points and 12 rebounds.
Logan Beaston added 22 points, and
Steele Brasfield added 17 points and nine rebounds.
Indiana Tech moves to 22-6 overall. They will host three-seed Rochester Christian on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
