CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Indiana Tech baseball team split a doubleheader with Campbellsville on Saturday, taking game one 5-2 before falling 3-0 in game two.
Campbellsville took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second of game one. Indiana Tech tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the fourth on a two-RBI single by
Jack Ferguson.
The score remained 2-2 until the eighth, when
Keelan Dunkle delivered a two-RBI single to put Indiana Tech ahead 4-2. Dunkle came around to score on a wild pitch to put the Warriors ahead 5-2.
Campbellsville brought the tying run to the plate, but Indiana Tech induced a groundout to secure a 5-2 victory.
Derek Ruiz led Indiana Tech with three hits, including a double.
Noah McEldowney,
Garrett Rainey, and
Keelan Dunkle each stole a base.
Noah Redmon got the start, allowing two runs in five innings.
Kaden Plank got the win, throwing 3.2 scoreless innings in relief with six strikeouts.
Colton Leatherman got an out to secure his fourth save of the year.
Campbellsville took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second of game two. The Tigers took a 3-0 lead in the fourth, which would go on to be the final score in seven innings.
Indiana Tech only had one hit, a single by
Keelan Dunkle.
Austin Byford got the start and took the loss, allowing three runs (one earned) in 4.1 innings.
Kade Robinson threw 1.2 scoreless innings in relief.
Indiana Tech moves to 5-3 on the year. They return to action on Sunday in another doubleheader against Campbellsville.
