GLENDALE, Ariz. – The Indiana Tech men's volleyball team kicked off their west coast trip by defeating Arizona Christian 3-1 on Tuesday.
Indiana Tech jumped out to a 13-8 lead in set one. The Warriors would go on to take the first set 25-17.
Arizona Christian took a 13-10 lead in set two. Indiana Tech cut the lead to two at 22-20, but Arizona Christian scored three of the final four points to take the second set 25-21.
ACU led 7-6 to start set three, but Indiana Tech used a 6-1 run to take a 12-8 lead. ACU tied the set at 14-14, but a 5-0 run put Indiana Tech ahead 19-14. With Indiana Tech ahead 21-16, ACU used an 8-2 run to swing the lead in their favor at 24-23. Indiana Tech responded with three straight points to take the third set 26-24.
Indiana Tech jumped ahead 14-7 to open the fourth set. ACU cut the lead to three on several occasions, but Indiana Tech answered every time. The Warriors would go on to take the fourth set 25-19 and the match 3-1.
Kristian Kold led Indiana Tech with 17 kills and two aces.
Logan Gieseke added 13 kills, 4.0 blocks and a team-high seven digs.
Zack Karns and
Zeke Litchfield both added 4.0 blocks as well.
Dylan Poore added 12 kills and two aces.
Nolan Bosley had 46 assists and six digs.
Indiana Tech moves to 10-6 overall. The Warriors return to action on Wednesday against Benedictine Mesa.
