Box Score 2 TUCSON, Ariz. – Indiana Tech softball picked up two more wins in Tucson on Thursday, rallying past Mayville State 3–2 before defeating Valley City State 7–1 in the second game of the day.
In the opening game against Mayville State, the Warriors battled back after falling behind early. Mayville State scored two runs in the first inning, but Indiana Tech stayed within striking distance behind a strong performance in the circle from Mackenzie Arroyo.
The Warriors broke through in the sixth inning when Morgan Macek doubled to left center, bringing home Kaelie Kugler to cut the deficit to one. Moments later, Haylee Pruitt delivered a clutch two-RBI double, scoring Macek and Alyssa Fox to give Indiana Tech a 3–2 lead.
Arroyo was dominant throughout the game, pitching 6.2 innings while allowing just two hits and striking out 10 to earn the win. Carlye Walter recorded the final out to secure the victory.
Offensively, Indiana Tech totaled nine hits, with Pruitt leading the way with two hits and two RBIs. Victoria Boyer also recorded two hits, while Fox, Macek, Cvitanovich, Kugler, and Walter each added hits in the win.
The Warriors carried that momentum into the second game against Valley City State.
Valley City State struck first with a run in the opening inning, but Indiana Tech responded in the second when Alyssa Harvey scored on a wild pitch to tie the game.
Indiana Tech broke the game open in the third inning as Carlye Walter delivered a two-RBI single, scoring Morgan Macek and Kaelie Kugler. Harvey followed with an RBI single to extend the lead.
The Warriors continued to add runs with RBI hits from Alyssa Fox, Haylee Pruitt, and Mikayla Cvitanovich, building a 7–1 advantage.
Indiana Tech collected 11 hits in the win, with Harvey and Cvitanovich each recording two hits, while Walter drove in two RBIs.
In the circle, Savannah Bravo delivered a dominant performance, throwing a complete game while allowing just one run and striking out 13 batters.
With the pair of victories, Indiana Tech improved to 13–8 on the season during its Tucson trip.
