Warriors Open WHAC Play with Win Over #8 Trojans

UPLAND, Ind. – The #10 ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team was back on the road for their first conference game of the season when they took on #8 ranked Taylor University in a top ten matchup on Saturday afternoon.

Despite dropping four spots in the rankings, the Warriors wouldn't let that bother them as they fired off seven first quarter goals against the Trojans, leading 7-1 after 15 minutes of play. Taylor would go on a 3-0 run in the second quarter but Tech would then go on a 4-0 run to end the quarter and go up 12-4 at the half. The second half would be closer, but the Warriors would take both the third and fourth quarters by a score of 6-4, resulting in a huge 24-12 win for the Orange & Black. The Tech offense lit up with Cam Fewster (5 G, 3 A), Jake Deacon (7 G), and Ryan Tedesco (4 G, 3 A) leading the way. Zach Spisz dominated for the Warriors defense, picking up seven ground balls and causing two turnovers, while also adding two assists. Sam Park would make six saves in goal for the Warriors, picking up his first win in the Orange & Black.

The Warriors improve to 3-2 this season and start WHAC play at 1-0. They will play Siena Heights in their next game on Wednesday, March 18th at home on Warrior Athletic Field at 7pm.
