INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana Tech baseball team fell to Marian 8-2 in a midweek game on Wednesday.
Indiana Tech took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second when
Derek Ruiz scored on a wild pitch. An RBI groundout by
Jack Ferguson in the top of the fourth gave Indiana Tech a 2-0 lead.
Marian scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 3-2 lead. Marian then scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth to take an 8-2 lead, which would go on to be the final score.
Indiana Tech only had three hits in the contest.
Garrett Rainey doubled for the lone Tech extra base hit.
Derek Ruiz and
Keelan Dunkle both stole a base.
Ben Hammond got the start and took the loss, allowing three runs (one earned) in 4.1 innings.
Kaden Plank followed with 2.1 scoreless innings in relief.
Dean Sommer threw 0.2 innings, and
Colton Okes got the final out of the eighth.
Indiana Tech moves to 15-10. The Warriors return to action on Saturday at home against Madonna.
