LIVONIA, Mich. – A new set of rankings came out on Wednesday morning as the NAIA released the third of edition of the top ten poll where the Warriors moved up three spots to No. 7. Tech would then hit the road for a conference battle against Madonna University who held their spot atop the poll at No. 1, setting up a big time top ten matchup.
The first quarter would start off with some back-and-forth action as the Warriors trailed 2-3 midway through the period. However, the Crusaders ended the quarter on a 4-0 run to go up by five after one quarter. Their run would continue in the second quarter, outscoring Tech 5-2 to lead 12-4 at halftime. The Warriors would battle back in the third to cut the deficit, but the Crusaders would then dominate again in the fourth to put the game out of reach as Madonna came away with a 24-10 win to hand Tech it's first conference loss of the season.
Cam Fewster led the Warriors with three points on three goals, while
Jacob Myers and
Zach Spisz each had three ground balls, and
Luke Prohaska had two caused turnovers.
Carl Drumgoole started in goal for the Warriors, playing 30 minutes and making ten saves before
Sam Park came in for the second half, finishing with six saves in 30 minutes.
The Warriors fall to 5-3 overall on the season and drop to 3-1 in WHAC play. They will look to bounce back with a home game against Lawrence Tech University Saturday, March 28
th at 1pm at Warrior Athletic Field.
