Warriors Pull Away Late to Win Tech vs Tech Battle

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The #7 ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team hosted Lawrence Tech University in the battle of the Tech schools, where the Warriors used a late game surge to pull away for the win.
 
The game would go back and forth throughout the first half with the Warriors leading 4-2 after the first quarter and the Blue Devils winning the second quarter to tie it up at 6-6 by halftime. Indiana Tech would regain a narrow lead in the third quarter, leading 9-8 heading into the final quarter. The Warriors would finally pull away in the fourth thanks to a 3-0 lead to start the period, which turned into a 6-1 run over the first ten minutes. Lawrence Tech would score two late goals in the final minutes, but the Warriors would hold on for the 15-10 victory. The Warriors would outshoot the Blue Devils 34-24 in shots on goal, but both goalies would play great in net to keep the game close. Sam Park would pick up the win for the Warriors, making 12 big saves, while the Blue Devils goalie, Dylan Porter, had a whopping 19 saves. Jake Deacon led the Tech offense with six points, scoring three goals and adding three assists, and five ground balls, while Cam Fewster had five points on two goals and three assists. Luke Prohaska and Zach Spisz led the defensive efforts for the Warriors with four caused turnovers and two grounds balls and three caused turnovers and five grounds balls, respectively.
 
The Warriors bounced back from their loss earlier in the week to improve to 6-3 overall and 4-1 in WHAC play. Up next, Tech will host #3 ranked Aquinas College in another big conference battle on Wednesday, April 1st at Warrior Athletic Field at 7pm.
