SYLVANIA, Ohio – The Indiana Tech men's volleyball team fell to No. 8 Lourdes in five sets on Tuesday.
Lourdes led 12-8 in set one, but Indiana Tech fought back to cut the lead to one at 13-12. Indiana Tech tied the set at 19-19, but Lourdes answered to take a 21-19 lead. With Lourdes ahead 23-22, Indiana Tech scored back-to-back points to take a 24-23 lead. Lourdes tied the set at 24-24, but Indiana Tech would answer with two points to take the first set 26-24.
With Lourdes ahead 13-9, the Gray Wolves used a 7-0 run to extend their advantage to 20-9. Lourdes took the second set 25-13.
Lourdes opened the third set with a 7-0 run. Lourdes led by as many as eight, but Indiana Tech fought back to cut the lead to three at 22-19. Lourdes took a 24-19 lead, but Indiana Tech used a 3-0 run to cut the lead to 24-22. Lourdes would hold on to take the set 25-22.
Indiana Tech took a 12-8 lead to open the fourth set, but Lourdes used a 6-1 run to take a 14-13 lead. With Lourdes ahead 18-17, Indiana Tech used a 6-1 run to take a 23-19 lead. Indiana Tech would take the fourth set 25-21.
The Warriors led 4-3 in the fifth set, but Lourdes used a 6-2 run to take a 9-6 lead. The Gray Wolves would go on to take the fifth set 15-8 and the match 3-2.
Dylan Poore led Indiana Tech with 15 kills and two aces.
Logan Gieseke had 13 kills and 3.0 blocks.
Nolan Bosley had 45 assists, and
Owen Elliott had 10 kills and nine digs.
Indiana Tech falls to 8-6 overall and 5-3 in WHAC play. The Warriors return to action on Friday at Mount Vernon Nazarene.
