MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – The Indiana Tech men's volleyball team defeated Mount Vernon Nazarene in four sets on Friday afternoon.
Indiana Tech used a massive 10-2 run to take an 18-9 lead in set one. The Warriors would take the first set 25-18.
Mount Vernon Nazarene led 19-15 in the second set, but Indiana Tech fought back to tie it at 22-22. The set was tied at 23-23 and 24-24, but it was MVNU who took the second set 26-24.
Set three saw Indiana Tech lead 14-8 before MVNU used a 5-0 run to make it 14-13. With Indiana Tech ahead 22-21, the Warriors closed the set on a 3-1 run to secure the 25-22 set win.
Indiana Tech led 9-3 in set four, but an 8-1 run put MVNU ahead 11-10. The game remained close with Indiana Tech narrowly holding a 19-18 edge. The Warriors then rattled off six straight points to take the fourth set 25-19 and the match 3-1.
Dylan Poore led Indiana Tech with 15 kills, 10 digs and three aces.
Zack Karns added nine kills and 9.0 blocks.
Nolan Bosley had 44 assists, and both
Taiki Peterson and
Kristian Kold had three aces apiece.
Indiana Tech moves to 9-6 overall and 6-3 in WHAC play. The Warriors return to action on Tuesday at Arizona Christian.
