FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's volleyball team defeated Mount Vernon Nazarene in four sets on Wednesday for their sixth straight win.
Indiana Tech jumped out to a 16-11 lead in the first set. MVNU never got within four as Indiana Tech took the first set 25-20.
MVNU took a 13-6 lead to open the second set. Indiana Tech cut the lead to four at 21-17, but MVNU closed the set on a 4-0 run to take the second set 25-17.
MVNU led 12-10 in the third set before a 6-2 Indiana Tech run gave the Warriors a 16-14 lead. Indiana Tech closed the set on a 9-3 run to take the third set 25-17.
The fourth set was back-and-forth as the teams found themselves tied on 15 different occasions. With Indiana Tech ahead 21-20, MVNU used a 3-0 run to take a 23-21 lead. With MVNU ahead 24-22, Indiana Tech closed the set on a 4-0 run to take the fourth set 26-24 and the match 3-1.
Logan Gieseke led Indiana Tech with 13 kills and added 4.0 blocks.
Kristian Kold added 10 kills, and
Logan Gamero had a team-high 5.0 blocks.
Nolan Bosley had a team-high 42 assists, and
Ben Rosenow led Tech with 15 digs.
Owen Elliott had a team high two aces.
Indiana Tech moves to 17-7 overall and 12-3 in WHAC play. The Warriors return to action on Saturday against Viterbo and #3 Saint Xavier. Both matches will be played in Chicago.
