Warriors Shine on Senior Day with Complete Performances

FORT WAYNE, Ind - Indiana Tech celebrated Senior Day in dominant fashion, sweeping Michigan-Dearborn on April 11 at Warrior Park with two complete performances on both sides of the ball.

In game one, the Warriors pulled away for an 8-1 victory behind a balanced offensive attack and a strong outing from Savannah Bravo. Indiana Tech struck first in the opening inning and never looked back, gradually building momentum throughout the game.

After Michigan-Dearborn tied it in the third, the Warriors responded immediately. Victoria Boyer gave Indiana Tech the lead for good with a sacrifice fly in the fourth, followed by a two-run fifth inning highlighted by RBI efforts from Haylee Pruitt and Carlye Walter. The Warriors broke the game open in the sixth, plating four runs behind extra-base hits from Kaelie Kugler and Morgan Macek, along with a sacrifice fly from Alyssa Harvey.

In the circle, Bravo was in control from start to finish, allowing just three hits and one run while striking out eight in a complete-game performance.

Game two saw Indiana Tech jump out early once again, using a strong first and third inning to secure a 6-1 win and complete the sweep. The Warriors capitalized on early opportunities, scoring twice in the first and adding another in the second before a three-run third inning created separation.

Melissa Cabrera provided the biggest swing of the game with a two-run home run, while Avery Kidwell added an RBI to keep the offense rolling. Indiana Tech totaled 10 hits for the second straight game, continuing to apply pressure throughout the lineup.

Carlye Walter was dominant in the circle in game two, tossing a complete game and allowing just one hit and one run while working through five walks and striking out five.

Across the doubleheader, Indiana Tech combined for 20 hits and 14 runs, controlling both games from start to finish. The sweep made for a memorable Senior Day, as the Warriors honored their seniors with a strong showing and continued to build momentum heading deeper into conference play.
