Warriors Battle No. 1 Madonna University Crusaders in Sunday Showdown

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Indiana Tech Warriors faced a tough test on Sunday, April 12, hosting the nation's top-ranked Madonna University Crusaders in a competitive doubleheader at Warrior Park.

In game one, the Warriors delivered an impressive offensive performance but came up just short in a 10-9 loss. Madonna capitalized on an early surge, but Indiana Tech continued to respond throughout the game.

Avery Kidwell led the way offensively with a home run and four RBIs, while Haylee Pruitt recorded three hits and Morgan Macek added two. Kaelie Kugler also contributed with three hits as the Warriors totaled 14 on the game. Indiana Tech showed resilience late, scoring three runs in the seventh inning to cut the deficit to one, but the comeback effort fell just short.

Game two proved to be more challenging, as Madonna erupted for 10 runs in the opening inning. Despite the early deficit, the Warriors continued to compete and found a bright spot with Lily Barringer driving in Indiana Tech's lone run in the 10-1 contest.

Although the results did not fall in their favor, the Warriors showed they can compete at a high level—especially in game one—against the top team in the nation. Indiana Tech will look to carry that competitiveness forward as conference play continues.
