INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The #6 Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team was in Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday to play #9 Marian University. The two teams would enter the tie in a tie for first place in the WHAC standings setting up a potential title decider.
Marian would jump out in front with the first three goals of the game, but Tech would score two to close the period and add another to start the second and knot the game at 3-3. They would then trade goals throughout the second and third quarter, heading into the final 15 minutes tied at 10-10. Marian would take the lead early, but
Kylie King brought the Warriors level less than a minute later. However, the Knights would close the game on a 4-0 run over the final nine minutes of play to edge the Warriors 15-11 and gain sole possession of first place in the WHAC.
Michelle Farrell had a team high three goals, five assists, eight points, and six draw controls, while also adding three ground balls and two caused turnovers. King would finish with two goals on the day, while
Jada Pope had three.
Kat Hoff made eight saves and picked up six ground balls in goal for the Warriors.
The Warriors fall to 7-4 overall and 5-2 in WHAC play. Tech will conclude the regular season with three home games, the first of which comes on Wednesday, April 15
th at 4pm at Warrior Athletic Field.
