DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. – The #8 Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team was on the road for a mid-week conference game against the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where the Warriors would take down the Wolverines 19-8.
The Warriors would post their highest scoring first quarter since March 18
th, with seven goals on Wednesday night. Tech would follow their offensive first quarter with a stellar defensive second quarter, allowing zero goals through the second 15 minutes, taking an 11-3 lead into halftime. Tech would continue to control the game in the second half, building up a 14-goal lead at one point. UM-Dearborn would close the gap slightly, near the end of the game, but Tech would walk away with a comfortable 11-goal victory.
Cam Fewster continued his strong run of games with a team high six points on two goals and four assists.
Ryan Tedesco would also tie for the team high with six points, scoring five goals and adding one assist, while
Reice Hafl had five points on one goal and four assists.
Maddox Schwartz had a huge day in the faceoff circle, going 16 for 22, while picking up a career high 14 ground balls, which is the most ground balls in a single game this season amongst all Warriors!
Khiusttin Corpas and Hafl would each record two caused turnovers to lead the Warriors, while also each grabbing three ground balls.
Sam Park grabbed one ground ball and made five saves in goal for the Warriors over 45 minutes played, earning the win.
Carl Drumgoole played the fourth quarter in goal for Tech and made five saves in relief.
The Warriors improve to 9-5 overall and 7-2 in WHAC play. They will host #1 Madonna University on senior day in their next game on Saturday, April 18
th at 5:30pm at Warrior Athletic Field.
