MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The 2 seed Indiana Tech Warriors defeated the 3 seed Lourdes 3-1 to advance to the WHAC Tournament Championship.
Lourdes jumped out to an 11-7 lead in the first set. Lourdes led 21-17, but a 5-0 run gave Indiana Tech a 22-21 lead. Lourdes tied the set at 22-22, 23-23, and 24-24. Indiana Tech closed the set with back-to-back points to give Indiana Tech the 26-24 win.
Lourdes led 11-5 in the second set. The Gray Wolves extended their lead to 16-9. Lourdes would go on to take the second set 25-18.
Indiana Tech led 15-10 in the third set. Lourdes never got within three for the remainder of the set as Indiana Tech took set three 25-20.
Lourdes led 13-11 in the fourth set, but a 5-0 run gave Indiana Tech a 16-13 lead. With a 20-18 lead, a 4-1 Warrior run gave Tech a 24-19 lead. Indiana Tech took the fourth set 25-21 and the match 3-1.
Dylan Poore led Indiana Tech with 14 kills.
Logan Gieseke had 11 kills, and
Zack Karns added six. Karns, Poore,
Nolan Bosley,
Kristian Kold, and
Bo O'Leary all had 2.0 blocks.
Nolan Bosley led Indiana Tech with 39 assists and three aces.
Ben Rosenow had a team-high 11 digs, and
Alex Rosenow added nine.
Indiana Tech moves to 22-8 overall. The Warriors will play #15 Bethel in the WHAC Championship on Saturday.
