MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The two seed Indiana Tech fell to top seeded Bethel in four sets in the WHAC Championship on Saturday.
Bethel led 14-13 before a 5-0 run gave the Pilots a 19-13 advantage. Bethel would take the first set 25-19.
The second set was back-and-forth as the teams found themselves tied at 16-16. Bethel used a 4-1 run to take a 20-17 lead. Indiana Tech cut the lead to two, but Bethel would go on to take the second set 25-20.
Bethel led 17-15 in the third set before a 4-1 Tech run gave the Warriors a 19-18 lead. The teams traded points, and with the teams tied at 23-23, Indiana Tech scored back-to-back points to take the third set 25-23.
Bethel took a 16-10 lead in the fourth set. Bethel would go on to take the set 25-17 and the match 3-1 to win the WHAC Championship.
Dylan Poore led Indiana Tech with 20 kills.
Kristian Kold added eight kills, 3.0 blocks, and two aces. Both
Bo O'Leary and
Logan Gieseke added 3.0 blocks as well.
Nolan Bosley had 38 assists, and both
Alex Rosenow and
Ben Rosenow had a team-high eight digs.
Indiana Tech falls to 22-9 overall. The Warriors will wait to see if they earn an at-large bid to the NAIA National Tournament during the NAIA Selection Show on Tuesday, April 21 at 12 PM ET.
