TOLEDO, OHIO – The Indiana Tech offense stayed hot, sweeping Lourdes in a doubleheader on Sunday. The Warriors took game one 19-10 in seven innings and game two 18-1 in seven innings.
Lourdes scored two runs in the second in game one to take a 2-0 lead.
A two-run home run in the top of the third by
Garrett Rainey tied the game at 2-2. A two-RBI double by
Brycen Hannah gave Tech a 4-2 lead. An RBI single by
Keelan Dunkle made it 5-2.
A solo home run by
Jack Ferguson in the fourth extended the lead to 6-2. An RBI fielder's choice by
Keelan Dunkle made it 7-2, and a wild pitch brought home another run to make it 8-2. A bases clearing triple by
Garrett Rainey made it 11-2. A two-run home run by
Jack Ferguson, his second of the inning, gave Tech a 13-2 lead.
A wild pitch in the fifth put Tech ahead 14-2. An RBI groundout by
Levi Laymon made it 15-2, and a sacrifice fly by
Jorge Santana put Tech ahead 16-2.
Lourdes scored three runs in the fifth to make it 16-6.
A bases clearing double by
Quinn Seefeldt put Tech ahead 19-6. Lourdes scored four runs in the seventh, but Tech would secure the 19-10 win.
Jack Ferguson led Indiana Tech with three hits, and
Garrett Rainey led the way with five RBI. Indiana Tech had eight extra-base hits in the win.
Luke Myers got the start and the win, throwing 4.2 innings.
Kade Robinson closed the game with 2.1 innings in relief.
An RBI single by
Ben Morrison in the top of the first of game two put Tech ahead 1-0. A two-RBI single by
Derek Ruiz made it 3-0, and Ruiz would come around to score on an error to make it 4-0.
A sacrifice fly by
Jack Ferguson in the second put Tech ahead 5-0. An RBI double by
Derek Ruiz made it 6-0. A wild pitch allowed another run to score to make it 7-0.
A sacrifice fly by
Derek Ruiz in the fourth extended the lead to 8-0. An RBI fielder's choice by
Jorge Santana in the fifth put Tech ahead 9-0, and an RBI double by
Ben Morrison extended the lead to 10-0. A two-RBI single by
Jack Ferguson brought the lead to 12-0.

Ben Morrison in the sixth extended the lead to 14-0. A two-RBI single by
Derek Ruiz made it 16-0, and a two-RBI double by
Brycen Hannah made it 18-0.
Indiana Tech would go on to win 18-1 in seven innings.
Derek Ruiz led Indiana Tech with three hits and six RBI.
Ben Morrison added three hits and four RBI. Tech had four extra base hits and three stolen bases in the win.
Ben Hammond got the start and the win, allowing just three hits in six scoreless innings.
Andrew VanOeveren threw the seventh inning to close the game.
Indiana Tech moves to 31-13 overall and 20-4 in WHAC play. The Warriors return to action at home against Indiana Wesleyan on Tuesday.
