FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The #8 Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team opened WHAC Tournament play on Tuesday night as the #3 seed. The Warriors would host the #6 seed Lawrence Tech Blue Devils in the first round at Warrior Athletic Field.
Reice Hafl and
Jake Deacon opened the scoring for the Warriors, putting them ahead 2-0 in the opening minutes. Lawrence Tech would score shortly after and then equalize midway through the quarter, before the Warriors ended the quarter with two more goals from
Collin Howard and Hafl.
Cam Fewster picked up three assists on the Warriors first four goals to break the Tech all-time single season point record. The junior entered the day in a tie for second on the list at 102, only trailing last year's WHAC and NAIA Player of the Year,
Devin Macomber, who set the Tech record last season with 104 points. Fewster ended the game with six points, scoring one goal and assisting five, now sitting at 108 this year and alone on top of Tech's record book. He also broke the single season assist record earlier this year.
With the Warriors leading 4-2 after one,
Ryan Tedesco would make it 5-2 Tech in the opening minute of the second quarter, but Lawrence Tech would shut out the Warriors over the rest of the period. The Blue Devils scored twice to cut the lead to just one going into halftime. Lawrence Tech tied it up at five to start the third quarter, which was a wake-up call for the Warriors who then rattled off four straight goals to close the third. LTU scored first in the fourth, but again the Warriors would close the period with a 5-0 run to complete a huge second half and win the game by a final of 14-6. Along with Fewster, Hafl led the Tech offense, scoring three goals and adding two assists to finish with five points.

Sam Park picked up the win in goal, making nine saves and grabbing one ground ball.
